Baughman Township Trustees propose road levy

Baughman Trustees have placed a road district levy on the November 7 ballot for the general construction and repair of township roads and bridges.  For over 30 years the Township had a 2 mil levy for roads and bridges.  This is necessary for the roads that Baughman residents have come to expect.

For further information contact the Township officials.  You can find their contact information on the elected officials tab or the contact tab.

For information about how this levy will affect your property taxes visit the Wayne County Auditor website at <> and search for your property.  Click on the tax tab and then on view levy data for this parcel.

The road district excludes the incorporated parts of Baughman Township.  Residents of Orrville and Marshallville are not taxed by this levy.

Ballot Language:   Proposed Tax Levy (Additional) Baughman Township Road District: A majority affirmative vote is necessary for passage. An additional tax for the benefit of the Baughman Township Road District for the purpose of general construction and repair of township roads and bridges at a rate not exceeding 2 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.20 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of five years, commencing in 2017, first due in calendar year 2018.

Road employees have been readying roads for the summer chip and seal projects.  Below are pictures of the berming process.
